Ana is from Póvoa de Varzim and came to Living Tours directly from the Alentejo to return to the north and take on a new challenge as a Living Private tour expert.

Wedding proposal in the Douro

The majestic and picturesque Douro Valley is one of those places that seems to have been carefully sculpted for the celebration of love. As the river meanders through vineyards and mountains covered in greenery, an atmosphere of romanticism envelops the landscape, creating an ideal setting for special and surprising moments. This story is a reflection of the charm and magic that permeate this destination, making it conducive to unforgettable gestures of love.

Here's Ana Nunes' testimony:

"Today I've come to tell you about a very special moment that will always remain in my heart.

On the twenty-sixth of September 2023 I went on the department's best-selling Douro Wine Premium Tour. On the way to the Douro Valley, as usual, I introduced myself, explained what we were going to do in detail and asked each of the guests to introduce themselves. I then explained the region, our economy, our gastronomy and our Port and Douro wines.

In the morning, we visited Quinta de São Luiz and during the tasting, one of my guests, Branislav Perovic, asked to speak to me. He immediately confessed that he had been preparing to ask his girlfriend to marry him that day and that he was carrying the ring in his pocket. For Branislav, the Douro was the perfect place to eternalise this moment.

I told her that the place where we were going to have lunch was secluded and had an unrivalled view of the River Douro. We agreed that I was supposed to take their picture as soon as we arrived at the lunch spot, but instead of taking their picture, I was going to start filming so that he could ask his girlfriend to marry him. And so it was!

I confess that until the proposal, I was nervous. Because of the responsibility, because it was a moment that would forever be eternalised in my memory, in their memory, in the group's memory and because it was a unique moment!
