The historical and cultural city is the first stop in our tour. Here you’ll explore every corner, while immersing yourself in the knowledge arising from its walls and streets.
The first point of the visit will be the fortified bridge and tower of Ucanha. The bridge, built between the XIV and XV centuries, crosses the Varosa river connecting to the tower, which served as a deposit for the payment of tolls to enter the monastic couto.
Afterwards you will move on to the tasting of Port wines. Then you can have lunch peacefully, in a cozy atmosphere, with fresh and tasty dishes.
After lunch, you will visit the Nossa Senhora dos Remédios Sanctuary, located in the Sé parish. Classified as Property of Public Interest since 1984, it is one of the main pilgrimage churches in the country.
The next stop will be the Lamego Museum, which occupies the former Episcopal Palace and tells the story of its evolution in its permanent exhibition. Here you can also see some objects classified as National Treasures by the Portuguese State.
The last stop will be the Cathedral of Lamego, an imposing monument with impressive architectural features. Founded in 1129 it has undergone several changes over time, and today, of the original structure, only the side tower remains.
