Your day starts with your guide waiting for you at your accommodation. The tour begins in the old part of the city, full of history and with a great rich heritage to explore. The historical centre of Porto, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, allows you to appreciate its Roman and medieval architecture. Observe the imposing Cathedral of Porto, one of the most enchanting buildings of the city, that dates from the 12th-century!

We will continue our private tour towards the São Bento Railway Station. This place may be one of the greatest highlights of the tour - this train stations seems like a true tile museum! Its tile panels tell the history of the North of Portugal through dazzling blue and white tiles. The main atrium is covered by more than twenty thousand tiles!

Then, discover the city's main avenue, the Aliados Avenue. Completely decorated with high granite buildings, this imposing avenue offers a vast architectural complex with Art Nouveau and Art Deco façades. At the top, stands the building of the City Hall of Porto.

Vila Nova de Gaia hosts the famous Port Wine Cellars, your next stop. Have the opportunity to visit a Wine Cellar - either Graham's or Cockburn's - and learn all about the winemaking process that has lasted for centuries and that is the basis of this world-famous wine. In this guided tour, it's included the tasting of 3 port wines. It's the perfect opportunity to savour some of the best.

Ana is the best

This is a great introduction to Porto. Ana is full of energy, enthusiasm and knowledge about the city and its vast and interesting history. I could not imagine a better tour guide. Well worth the time and money.

Absolute Recommendation

We did at the 17th August the individual half-day tour. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the guide (Pedro?). We are a bit late with our rating ;-) He picked- us up by car, what we did not expected, because we thought we walk by feet. But okay, that was a very good surprise, because one of my foot had pain that day. Well, he has shown us everything in the city and explained the history of nearly each spot. It was a very inspiring tour for our next visit in Porto with much information and especially individual notes and personal recommendations. Also he took many photos of us. As well the hint for a visit of Afurada, next to Gaia, was very good. We visited Afurada next day. The half-day tour was finished with a visit of a port wine cellar including a tour inside the winery and cellar with all explanations regarding port wine producing and a tasting. Susanna was our guide for this tour and we would thoroughly recommend the tour and particularly our guide. Susanna arrived ahead of the appointed time but, due to personal reasons, we had to start late. The itinerary was great and we visited all the sites included, despite having less than the required time available. Susanna was very friendly and approachable, and her extensive knowledge made our tour very enjoyable; she went out of her way to show us as much as she could, and even went well over the nominated finishing time (due to our late start) to make sure we saw as much as possible. This was a great tour!
