Seek Growth and Learning

At Living, we believe it's important for employees to grow, both personally and professionally. It's important to constantly challenge yourself and push yourself, not lock yourself into a job where you don't feel like you're growing or learning.

We believe that within each employee there is more potential than he or she imagines.

Our goal is to help employees unlock their potential. But it has to be a joint effort: You have to want to challenge yourself and put in the effort to make it happen.

If you stick with Living for a few more months, one thing is clear:

Living is growing. Because those who are not growing are dying.

We grow because we take on new challenges, and we face even greater new challenges because we are growing.

It's a vicious circle, and that's a good thing: it's the only way for the company to survive. But this can also be risky, stressful and confusing at times.

Sometimes it can seem like new problems pop up just as quickly as we solve current ones – sometimes faster. But that just means we're moving forward – that we're getting better and stronger.

Anyone who wants to compete with us has to learn the same things; thus, problems are just mileage markers. Each one we overcome means we are getting better.

However, no matter how much better we get, we will always have hard work to do, it will never be quite done, and we will never – get it right.

This may sound negative, but it's not: we'll do our best to get it right, and then do it again when we understand that things have changed. This is the cycle of growth and, like it or not, this cycle is not going to stop. It is the cycle of constant adaptation.

It is difficult. But if we weren't doing something difficult, then we wouldn't have a company. The only reason we don't get swallowed up by our competition is because what we do is hard, and we do it better than anyone else. If it never gets too easy, start looking for the marmoto of competition to drag us away.

It may seem at times that we don't know what we are doing. And it's true: we don't know. This is a little scary, but we can't be comfortable knowing that nobody else knows how to do what we're doing either.

Sure, people are part of what we've done before, but what we've learned over the years at Living is that the storm is in the details. And that's where we're breaking new ground.

So there are no experts in what we are doing. Except us: we're becoming experts as we go. And for everyone who joins our team, the best skill they can bring is the experience of learning and adapting and imagining new things – helping the company grow, and in the process, they will grow too.
