Nelson Mandela International Day
Today is the day of the birth of this great promoter of the struggle against Apartheid, who put his life at the service of humanity, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.
This day also means an inspiration and a call to all of us to fight for a better world. Celebrates and honors the life and legacy of one of the bravest and most admirable leaders in the world!
Nelson Mandela fought to build a better life for his people, ensuring social, political and economic equality for all blacks living in South Africa during the Apartheid regime.
After spending several years in prison, Nelson Mandela was elected the first black president of South Africa and a Nobel Peace Prize winner for his fight against Apartheid.
Today, the protection of human rights, equality between races and ethnicities, the resolution of conflicts between peoples and the integrity of humanity are celebrated.
I fought white supremacy. And I fought black supremacy. I always pursued the ideal of a democratic and free society, in which everyone could live in harmony and have the same opportunities. This was always the ideal I wanted to live by. And it's an ideal I'm willing to die for.
