The Legião da Boa Vontade (Legion of Good Will) is one of the social solidarity institutions that make our Livingtourianos project with Cause 1 X 1 happen on the ground, where we donate a meal for each participant in our tours to the needy and homeless in Porto, Lisbon and Coimbra.

The LBV, founded in 1950, has in its Mission and Vision a purpose in which we fully review ourselves and it is with great pleasure and pride that we include it in our Social Transformation project.

 “The Legion of Good Will is an Educational, Cultural, Philanthropic, Social Solidarity, ecumenical, non-profit institution. It was founded in Brazil on January 1, 1950 (Day of Peace and World Fellowship), by radio broadcaster and poet Alziro Zarur (1914-1979). Its president is journalist José de Paiva Netto.

In seven decades of existence, the Ideal of Good Will has expanded beyond the borders of its country of origin, inspiring the actions of the LGW in Argentina, Bolivia, the United States, Paraguay, Uruguay and Portugal. It has been present in this country for thirty-two years, after a challenge launched to the president of the institution, by a group of Portuguese and among them the late journalist from Coimbra Penalva Rocha. In response to this challenge, since then, in a humanistic vision, the LBV has been operating in Portuguese lands. With offices located in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra, it works on behalf of families at socioeconomic risk, adding to the material support the values of Ecumenical Spirituality.”

We are developing our volunteer project in partnership with the LBV and the entire Livingtourian team, so that we can also do our best on the ground in helping others and those in need!
