Come out as a frontline leader
One of the skills valued at Leadership is the importance of leaders reaching the front lines and spending time with their teams.
Of course, this was not physically possible for many people during the pandemic. So it was especially wonderful to see some of our brilliant teams in person recently.
The restart of our TOURS & TRANSFERS operation was a special way to reconnect with the Living family, with so much emotion in the air when we started the operation, being able to receive our guests again is something that pleases and motivates us.
So, watching our TOURIST SERVICE team and learning more about their work with new trainings and warmly welcoming our guests is really inspiring. Going from the tour and transfer operations to the reception agencies and seeing the teams working on such different projects with a shared spirit of knowing how to receive with passion, innovation and energy is a great way to see the breadth of our family in action.
In a short time, I was lucky to be able to follow again some of our Regular Tours with our Tour Experts and Drivers. What a wonderful time to be with the team as they welcome our guests like no one else, hear about their roles and watch them work hard up close. From the teams that work on Tours to the management and operations control teams, it is a pleasure to hear daily about their experiences and knowledge, which they promote and receive daily from our guests.
I also spend a large part of my time daily with the back office teams, such as reservations and operation management, the groups and events areas, the commercial area, the online, digital, marketing and communication departments!
I learned a lot from all the adventure we spent together, and I'm sure it will be useful for many, many other experiences with the Living family.
I am also fortunate to work daily with part of the Living Tours team leaders here at LivingPlex
Walking around the company floor, talking to employees and finding out their opinions on what is going well, what could be improved and what ideas they have to improve things is extremely helpful. Whether virtually or physically, stepping off the desk and leading from the front line is really critical to the success of organizations.
