Commemoration of World Earth Day

Originated in the United States, on April 22, 1970, the Earth Day celebrations, were promoted by the American senator Gaylord Nelson (1916-2005), who decided to hold a protest against the pollution of the Earth, after verifying the consequences of the oil disaster. in Santa Barbara, California, in 1969.

Earth Day, also known as Planet Earth Day or Mother Earth Day, recognizes the importance of the planet and alerts all inhabitants to the importance and the need to preserve the world's natural resources.

This day is celebrated today in more than 190 countries, with the participation of around one billion people who express their commitment to the protection and the need to preserve the Earth's natural resources, environment and sustainability.

At Living Tours, we care about the environmental impact and our footprint on the environment!

In this sense, we work for environmental sustainability, carrying out several actions daily, to reduce our impact on the planet, such as:

• Tree Planting: On World Tree Day, to help, we plant trees annually in our Livingtourian grove,

• Bicycle Park: We provide a bicycle park, scooters and motorbikes in the Livingplex facilities, encouraging the use of means of transport to and from work, less polluting the environment;

• Public transport: We also encourage the use of public transport when commuting to work, having been a concern when choosing facilities near metro, bus and bus stations, a means of transport used by most of the Livingtouriana team;

• Electric Vehicles: We aim in the short term replace our entire fleet of vehicles, 9-seater Vans and Minibuses with electric vehicles, this type of vehicle is not yet available on the market, but it will be soon, and as soon as possible, we will replace it. gradually to our entire fleet in order to use clean and renewable energy;

• Renewable Energies: We also want to introduce solar panels in our facilities, for the supply of vehicles, as well as for energy consumption in Living Tours' facilities;

• Efficient water consumption: We are aware of the efficient use of water, always innovative and constantly analyzing new measures that reduce the use of water - in the daily washing of our vehicles;

• Responsible and conscious consumption of energy: the entire team is aware and oriented to avoid wasting energy, such as turning off computer monitors after work, air conditioning and all lamps;

• Everyone is responsible: for a conscious use of paper.

• Waste and Used Oils: All of our polluting oils and waste from our offices are collected and recycled by a company certified under the integrated environmental licensing system

• Recycling of Polluting Materials: All materials used in our offices are collected by the recycling company , creating new recycling materials under the integrated environmental licensing system.

It is our responsibility to take care of planet Earth.

It is our responsibility to repay what Mother Earth gives us in a healthy way.

We will all work to make it a better place.

Happy Earth day.
