Think Like an Owner

Owners think differently from employees, because sovereignty is a state of mind. It's about caring, about being fully involved in the active pursuit of business goals.

For example, employees are more concerned with the fact that their attitudes are observed by superiors.

Owners focus on the commercial results of their actions, regardless of who is watching. Employees may be more inclined to protect functional areas, pursue self-interest and approach the business from a peripheral point of view.

Owners transcend functional boundaries. No matter where an idea comes from, owners assess its merits based on the degree to which it contributes to the main objective: guest-client satisfaction.

Employees tend to live by the rules, even when they are contrary to common sense. Owners bend, stretch and even break rules that do not serve the purpose of the company. If breaking the rules is not an option, the owner takes the initiative to change them, he pays more attention to details that others don't notice.

When people have a keen interest in the outcome of a business, they become more concerned about spending, more innovative and creative. Owners also differ from collaborators by the ability to act without waiting for anyone to tell them, they are rarely spectators.

An owner takes time to listen to a customer's question during a casual meeting, he takes advantage of the rubbish that others ignore, he makes phone calls to pass on small but important information that can be ideas for the other employees.

At Living Tours, our employees have thought like owners for a few years, on the other hand, they have an interest in the company's results, because based on objectives and performances, they receive benefits according to the results, as is the case, for example, of receiving the 15th salary at the end of the year. year based on the annual performance of the entire company and team.

Offer Rewards for Everyone

How many times have we read or heard: “People are our most precious asset”? Still, employees of many companies will tell you that this oft-repeated phrase is meaningless. Not at Living Tours, here the words have meaning, because the company clearly demonstrates how much we value people. In fact, Living Tours has always invested in what gives the most return.

Helping people thrive at work is one of the most important things a company can do. It's one of my biggest motivations as CEO and Founder of Living's Purpose and Vision, and I've seen firsthand how everyone, including the company, benefits when you can have and develop the best in everyone.

This model came naturally at Living, it's the way I've always done business. I see no distinction between the way I treat family, friends, clients and colleagues. This has created a very special culture in the workplace, and it's something we've tried to maintain as the brand grows.

With more than 100 people in the Living group, we do something meaningful to bring the people of the Living family together.

We have several ways to do it, with sharing ideas in brainstorming sessions of the various teams and departments, to listen to our people and understand what their problems are in everyday life and how to improve performance with our guests who are the reason for our existence.

We have several awards, from innovation to suggestions for improvement given by any employee, we also reward the best experiences provided to our guests, we have performance incentive programs, we offer an annual 15th salary team award upon meeting the annual goal of the entire team, we also offer birth incentive prizes, as well as a set of incentives for all employees, ranging from:

25 days of vacation and not the 22 days required by law, Living's minimum wage and food allowance is considerably higher than the national minimum wage and food allowance, teams that work in rotating shifts do so in 4-day shifts and 2 days off, we encourage giving blood with 1 extra day of vacation, we have career plans, internal mobility of functions and/or department, initial and continuous training for the entire team, recreational and social events such as team buildings for karting races, paintball …, our annual Summer Party in July and we end each year in December with the distinction and appreciation of our stars, with the delivery of our Galos D'Ouro.

As we are currently developing a new event for 2023 for our anniversary date with a new distinction of the stars of the year by department, as well as we will include in our 2023 benefits package a health insurance for the entire team, it will be another huge investment, but which is more than well deserved for all our people.
