Situated in the historic center of the city, you will find one of the most precious Portuguese relics. The Sintra National Palace is the only monarch palace that has survived almost intact to this day.

Once used as a residence for the Christian Kings, the aesthetics of this remarkable palace will surely captivate you. You will notice three main artistic styles, Manueline, Mudejar and Gothic, surrounded by traditional Hispanic-Moorish tiles. Gothic-style conical white chimneys are impossible to ignore and inside the palace, you can still see old kitchen appliances and furniture in every room.

Be sure to visit the Swan, Coat of Arms and Pegas rooms. In the Coat Room you will find depicted on the ceiling, the 72 most noble contemporary Lusitanian houses of King D. Manuel I and walls covered with tiles from the 16th century, with depictions of hunting scenes. In the Magpie room, note the 136 painted magpies, each containing a banner that read "For Good."
