Portugal has made great strides in terms of inclusion and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. It is important to recognise that progress is not equal everywhere and there are still challenges to be faced. However, the growing presence of gay-friendly spaces, cultural events and support groups demonstrates an ongoing commitment to diversity and equality. Portugal, therefore, stands out as an inspiring example of how a nation can embrace and celebrate diversity. May our country continue to be a beacon of equality and may its cities continue to flourish as truly LGBTQ+-friendly destinations.
