Full description

In this tour, we will cross the Strait of Gibraltar to enjoy a unique sight of the African continent.

We set off from the port of Tarifa,  a town in the province of Cádiz and the southernmost point of the continental Europe. From Tarifa, we can get a perfect sight of the North of Morocco, especially the city of Tangier, where we will go after an hour of an exciting boat trip. In that short trip, we can spot some aquatic animals, such as dolphins and whales (cetaceans).

In Morocco, a local guide will receive and accompany us all excursion. First, we will do a panoramic overview of the outskirts of Tangier, by minibus, where we will enjoy the multicultural environment. Tangier city lives in a mix of cultures: the European and the Moroccan. They live and coexist in the same time and space, creating a very interesting place. Hence, we arrive at the Caves of Hercules - one of the most popular attractions in Tangier, named in homage to the Greek hero Heracles (Hercules in Roman mythology). 5 kilometers later, we will go to the Cape Spartel, located next to the Atlantic Ocean.

After that, we will visit the Medina of Tangier, the old town. There, we will visit the most important and historical places of the city, including the Grand Socco, the Tangier marketplace and the most visited place in the city. We will do a walking tour that will take us to the impressive Kasbah - consisting of a Fortress and the Palace of the Sultan.

There will be free time to eat (lunch is included in the tour) and, if desired, you can mount on a camel: the true Moroccan experience!

Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy the African continent in a single day. Come discover the colors and flavors of Tangier. A style of life and a culture absolutely amazing!

We will be back to Tarifa at about 7.30 pm.

Tour ben organizzato

Memorable trip to Morocco
We were at 10.15 am in the Tarifa Port for the check in and it was really a smooth process with the help of the Spanish guide there. Then we board the ferry at 11 am, I think, and the crossing was really nice, and we even saw some dolphins jumping in the water. Very nice and clear vision of Gibraltar Rock from the vessel. Once in tangier, the group of 11, there were 3 very funny Italians, 2 Canadian couples and our family of 4, was welcomed by the witty local guide Rashid and escorted to a comfortable minibus. We started with a panoramic view of tangier, in the most modern part of the city an went on the Hercules Cave, which is really something. Then we continued to the shoreline to admire the beautiful beaches of Morocco. There we stopped and went for a camel ride. We especially enjoyed the tradition local lunch, with chicken tangeen - I don't know if it is written correctly. Nobody asked for, but Rasheed told us it would be possible a vegetarian option. After lunch we walked at the medina and old town of Tangier, with the superb sultan palace, visited a local silk shop, a local pharmacy, and had some free time to shop before getting back on the bus to go to the port and return to Spain. The walking part is not challenging. It has some steps, but the guide adapted the pace to the velocity the group. Just want to let my personal recognition to the guides Victor in Spain and Rasheed in Morocco and to Living Tours assistance in all the process from the online booking to the confirmation. Thank you all for a memorable journey!

Me and my husband had a wonderful day trip tour to Tangier
After the enjoyable crossing to Africa in the ferry, we met a local the guide that took us to view the Kasbah. Good explanation in English and well knowledgeable of the main city attractions as the medina in the old town. Very nice restaurant with good food and very pleasant company of our small group colleagues. Thank you for everything, from the webchat assistance on the online booking and getting back just in time to our questions. Bye for now. Purita and George M., 28.05.2019

Very good lunch and guide
We were worried about the ferry but the trip was very nice and we were able to speak with other travellers. A suggestion: never visit Tangier without a guide. Rasheed was very calm, patient for all our questions and with a good level of English. The transport was comfortable and we will never forget the Moroccan lunch! Nice to being harassed a lot to buy!

We highly recommend this tour
We were a group of 7 booked on the Living Tours website after seing many. Almost instant confirmation. All started very nice in the Tarifa port and the ferry was good and clean. The local guide knowledge of history in good English was a plus, namely with his explanations on the Medina, the Souks and the Kasbah. Also great the nice drive by the coat with stop in the Caves of Hercules. The walking part was interesting and the truly Moroccan lunch was a superb experience.

Gone to tangier and did not buy any rugs
Really disapointed for not being offered some camels for my wife, ahah, but besides was very good trip for an American Citizen. No long visa formalities, no rush driving, not much confusion, and we got to see the most of tangier.

Good intro to Tangier
Great guide tour that started with a nice ferry trip from the Tarifa port. Highlights where the camels, the caves, the Kazbah and Medina. Not shopping oriented trip, which was something refreshing. Good value for Money all in all

Thanks a lot you guys!

Very informative and knowledge of the city
Rashid was a great guide. Knew where to take us to see Tangiers in a day showing the main historical sites and muslim city heritage. His English was very good and we would recommend to anyone wishing to have a fantastic trip in Morocco.

High Quality Experience!
Everything about the day was professional and tasteful. I usually prefer independent travel, but if you are going to Tangier just for the day this was perfect. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful local guide who offered historical and cultural information. A couple of quality shopping stops at the end of day but otherwise it was a coach to the beautiful coast and plenty of walking through the old town.

This tour was great and I highly recommend it!
I think it was a great value for the services provided. The tour guide, Rasheed I think his name was, really made the tour exceptional!

This was an amazing tour
We got to see so much of Tangier which helped us to appreciate the culture. It was a full day and the experience was well worth the fee. Our guide, Rasheed did a tremendous job. He introduced us to everyday life in Tangier in addition to seeing the important sites. He could not do enough for the tour group. He has a lot of energy, he is kind and he has a great sense of humor. We definitely recommend this tour.
