Italica, located in modern-day Santiponce and at 9 km from Seville, was the first Roman city founded in the Iberian Peninsula and was the birthplace of the Emperors Trajan and Hadrian. Considered the most important Roman ruins in Spain, Italica is a must-go place for the curious about History and Architecture and also for the mosaic enthusiasts.

The Roman city was founded in 206 B.C. by the General Publius Cornelius (also known for the nickname Africanus) and was a place of settlement for wounded soldiers or victorious veterans. From Seville, we will arrive at Italica in a short time. Old streets with fabulous mosaics compose this archaeological site, as well as a big aqueduct with 37 km total length, and a surprisingly big Amphitheatre - the 3rd biggest in the Roman Empire.
