Take a journey through Spanish history on this guided tour of the Royal Palace in Madrid! 

The Royal Palace was built in the XVIII century upon the ancient Baroque Italian style fortress of the Habsburg. It is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved palaces in Europe, and a symbol of the permanence and consolidation of Madrid as the capital of the Kingdom.

The Palace was the official residence of the Spanish Monarchy from 1765 to 1931. Nowadays, the most stunning receptions of the Spanish Crown are celebrated here: audiences, dinner parties, the signature of agreements and the traditional ceremony of presentation of Credential Letters from foreign ambassadors to His Majesty, the King.

In all, the palace features 3000 rooms that have been perfectly conserved, and you’ll be able to visit some of the most spectacular during the tour! We will visit the Armory Square (exterior of the palace), the Grand Staircase, the King Charles III’s Apartments, the Queen’s Apartments, the Banqueting Hall, the Royal Chapel, and the Throne Room and the Crown Room. After the guided tour, you may visit on your own the Royal Armory and enjoy the views from the viewpoint of the Armory Square.

Amazing Tour!
As a history buff, I loved this tour! Each room was so ornately decorated and had a different story. Our tour guide was not only extremely knowledgeable, but answered all of my millions of questions (thanks Javier!) 10/10 DEFINITELY recommend!

The guided visit to the royal palace was laughter and chuckling from start to finish. The guide was very funny and had a very interactive way of telling. She knew a lot about history and also told nice details. She was assertive with regard to the security in the palace itself and did not get rushed. Overall, GREAT experience! We couldn´t have asked for a better tour guide! I highly recommend her, and this tour. I also recommend going early, like we did. We went at 9:00 am which was perfect because there were very few groups early in the morning. It was getting pretty busy by the time our tour ended.

Ivsn was an excellent guide , he gave us an informative and interesting tour that combined a lot of historical and present day information . He was very knowledgeable of the palace and it’s history, along with the history of Spain itself. He made the tour fun, adding a little humor throughout, which I think helps make the group more comfortable.

I contacted Living Tours through their what's app and told them I wanted to visit the Royal Palace. They were very helpful and indicated this tour as one of the best. The truth is that we went early, we had no lines and we avoided crowds. Our guide was Ivan and he was great.

good guide with good information
This tour is interesting and very informative. If we arrive early, around 9 am the palace is almost empty. Ivan was our guide and was excellent. He knows what he is talking about, can add a sense of humor, and speaks fluent English.

Going early is a good option to be able to walk more quietly. The guide Lidia was punctual and showed us everything at the Palace Very kind and very clear in your explanations. I recommend to anyone wishing to do this excursion.
