This kayak tour will take place in the Guadalquivir River, located in the natural park of Sierra de Cazorla (Jaén), it passes through Córdoba and Seville and ends at the Gulf of Cádiz, in the Atlantic Ocean. It's the longest river of Andalusia and second-longest river in Spain. Discover many stories and fun facts that the river holds about the Sevillian history.
This fun, exciting and educational tour involves kayaking along the city centre of Seville. After a short introductory course on how to manage the kayak, you will depart from Betis, located in Triana for the River Guadalquivir, where you will pass through the city. The well-experienced guide will take you on a journey through some of Seville's most important historical moments, such as the discovery of America and the first trip around the world. You will see sights such as Triana La Isla de La Cartuja, La Maestranza, El Barrio del Arenal and the Universal Exhibition of 1992.
This river was most significant during the golden period of Seville that started after the discovery of America and lasted about 150 years. Seville was the main port of Europe for incoming goods from America such as gold, silver, and tobacco. The river sanded in the 17th century and Seville became less essential. It was only with the Expo of 92' that the river was restored and is now used for cruises and kayaking.
