Full description

On this guided tour, we will travel through the ancient Andalusian kingdoms of Castille and Granada while revealing scenic nature, history, and tradition. The Kingdom of Castille was a large and powerful state on the Iberian Peninsula during the Middle Ages.

We will begin our journey by exploring the Sevillian countryside. Here, we will stop at The Castle of “Las Aguzaderas”, an interesting medieval building located at the old borderline among Catholic kingdom and Moorish kingdom. Its mission was to defend a spring that flowed into the middle of the land on which the castle was built, and which was the water source for the fountain of Las Aguzaderas. This area was an intense war zone between the Moors and the Christians during hundreds of years, and that made water a precious resource. Since the Arab period, this place has olive groves and centennial mills that we will visit! Enjoy some free time to have a nice meal (lunch not included), surrounded by the picturesque white houses.

Let's proceed our trip through the mountains, stopping at the picturesque white village of Zahara de la Sierra, one of the pueblos blancos of Cadiz province. Arriving in the village, you are immediately struck by the sight of the fortress tower sitting on a narrow plateau at the top of the mountain rocks, and the white buildings wrapped around the mountain base!

Time to visit Grazalema, one of the famous white villages of Andalucia, considered by many to be among the most beautiful! We will drive to the Natural Park “Sierra de Grazalema”. You will enjoy a range of amazing landscapes and views over the provinces of Cádiz, Málaga, and Seville, from “Puerto de las Palomas” which is 1357 meters above the sea level. We also get the chance to witness vultures in their natural habitat. These mountains are known as the largest colony of Griffon vultures in Spain

After lunch, we will leave Grazalema and head to Ronda, on the way we will cross a very beautiful Mediterranean forest full of cork trees and oaks. Where up to this day locals still work with its cattle (Iberian pigs, goats, and cows), to extract honey, cork, aromatic spices or wood.

After an exciting morning, we will reach Ronda, one of the oldest towns in Spain! Ronda is unique for its surrounding nature and history. It is built on two separate cliffs. The town is connected by the most famous bridge in Spain, known as “The New Bridge” (Puente Nuevo), even though it was built in the 18th century. Our tour guide will take you around Ronda and tell you about the rich history the city holds. You will have some free time to explore the town's beauty.

Good one
Nice. Could've used a bit more time in Grazelema... But can't be helped. Scenery was wonderful. Guide (Antonio) was great - very entertaining and informative. Plenty of time to explore in Ronda.

Don't miss it
We have seen picturesque Seville country sides, Mediterranean forests and especially wonderful white villages. We also have chance to learn about Spanish olive making culture and history of Andalucia region. The lunch in the Grazalema was very good. It's a big pity that we have to shorten our visit in some places to keep schedule because some participants were late!

small group tour (21 person)
We found the guide a little lack of glamor in his presentation, but still informative. It was well organized and we were informed by e-mail about the pickup. The collection takes as usual for these trips, about an hour before you actually start driving. You get told a lot and also time to explore the area itself, which we personally like very much. There was a maximum of 21 people in our bus. The bus driver drove very quietly in the mountains, so one could hardly feel the serpentines.

so much to see
The area of white villages is very different and unique to Seville. The story is extensive and well explained by the main tour guide. I found the smaller 2 villages better than Ronda itself, they were more picturesque. The White Villages are incredible to see, especially when combined with the history of the area. As everywhere else in the world, this area is so much more than just a big city. Also, visiting a small olive oil factory was fascinating, it was very exciting to see how it was made. The bridge in Ronda should not be missed, the photo opportunities are endless. My only criticism would be that we did not have enough time to see the old town of Ronda.

great tour
First of all, thank you very much to our guide, Guido. The tour was therefore unforgettable, beautiful, comfortable, but still rich in information and impressions. The most beautiful thing we found was the tour of the Andalusian landscape and the visit of the white villages. On the way back, we even stopped to photograph the sunflower fields. Our requests have always been accepted. We also saw several churches and various surrounding landscapes. Good organization and good timing.

Ronda will not disappoint you!
I dont' fancy bullfighting, anyway I do love Hemingway, a passionate of bullfighting, so I had to see the Ronda Plaza de Toros and walk on the Paseo de Ernest Hemingway. That was the highlight of my trip as that's what I aimed for but sincerely I enjoy it all, mainly Ronda being like a time warp. From the Romans Age to the moorish Caliphate of Córdoba, to the invention of modern bullfighting, Ronda has a story to tell. Even Hemingway was in Ronda, whose inspiration reflects on the book For Whom the Bell Tolls. And they say Orson Welles' Don Quixote was also inspired in this lovely town. Some of other highlights of this trip: Ronda+s viewpooint where you can take in incredible photos of the Puente Nuevo and the spectacular river Tajo gorge. Mirador (viewpoint) of Aldehuela also and the white villages of Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra and the Natural Park.

Lunch could be in Ronda, where they have many picturesque and pleasant restaurants. But it was nice all in all. Thanks to the guide PAco.

Erittäin hyvä matka Sevillasta
Hyvin järjestetty, informatiivinen ja kyllä, se on pitkä päivä, mutta sen arvoinen. Selitys englanniksi oli hidas ja ymmärrettävä.

Very Interesting places
I found the characteristics of the cities visited very interesting. The medieval town Ronda has a cliff on one of its sides that has become a natural protection against attacks on the city. The "pueblos blancos" characteristic is painting their houses in the white color. The guide Paco was a well informed and had a very cheerful mood making the trip very pleasurable. Very nice all in all.
