Through Vilaflor we access the most visited National Park in Spain: Las Cañadas del Teide - declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2007. Crowned by the volcano Teide, the highest point of the Canary and Spanish geography, this geographic enclave possesses not only natural but also archeological, geological and even historical value because of its links with the aborigines of the island: the Guanches.
After crossing the beautiful Valley of La Orotava - one of the main economic centers of the island - covered by its forest canary pine forest, we will arrive at the Villa of Icod, a locality known for its wines and also for its majestic Drago, a millenarian tree of great symbolism for the whole Canary Islands. The old town also boasts the category of Cultural Interest. We will make a stop for lunch (not included in the price of the excursion).
We continue along the north coast of the island until we reach Garachico - popular for its volcanic lava flows and the islet that lies in front of the village, the Roque de Garachico. The crossing ends in Masca, located in the Macizo de Teno, northwest point of the island, a town with deep ravines and cliffs. Here they hid the pirates that from their privileged position to about 750 meters of altitude, controlled and intercepted the maritime traffic between Tenerife and La Gomera. Throughout the tour, hikers are allowed to take photos at different points of interest where stops will be made.
