Full description

This two-day tour to Tangier starts at the Tarifa Port, where you will be met at about 11:00 am. After being identified along with the other people that are in your small group, you will be given the round trip ticket to the ferry to Tangier that you should always have with.

You will need to pass the Spanish border control security and emigration and then wait in the departure hall until you start the embarkment to the ferry. Inside the ferry to Tangier, you should go to the Moroccan police office for stamping your passport, so exiting the vessel will be much faster in Tangier.

The ferry trip crossing the Strait of Gibraltar takes 1 hour depending on the currents and winds. During the boat ride, you will have a magnificent view of the Gibraltar rock, the shores of the “Costa de la Luz” (Coast of Light) resort region, the town of Tarifa and probably the dolphins that cross the Strait of Gibraltar.

Upon arrival in Tangier, you must leave the ferry and go through a Morrocan police office, where the passports will check before being stamped.

Immediately after exiting the terminal, the local guide will be waiting to take you to your comfortable and air-conditioned small bus for a panoramic tour of the new and modern area of Tangier until reaching the Cave of Hercules. There, the guide will explain the mythical history of the cave, and you'll free time to explore on your own.

Then you will continue the panoramic tour next to the Atlantic Ocean, the Cape Spartel and the beach area, where you can see the camels and even go riding one for a few minutes for a small extra charge paid locally.

Continuing to the city center, you will have lunch in a traditional restaurant. Lunch is included except drinks. Drinks can be bought, only non-alcoholic, with an average cost of 1,5 EUR. Lunch is traditional and complete. Usually, it has an animation with live local music.

The afternoon part of the visit to Tangier includes a walking tour to the Medina and the Kasbah of Tangier (the former sultan palace and gardens), located in the old town, where streets are narrow and labyrinthic, surrounded by colourful buildings, some stairs and a great deal of history about the endless cultures that were and still are present in Tangier (Spanish, English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, and even American). This former semi-independent international zone attracted eccentric foreigners, world-renowned artists, and even international spies.

Then you will visit a traditional Moroccan pharmacy to know the miracle products and also a silk and scarves shop with 100% national products, always accompanied by the local multilingual tour guide avoiding hustlers and annoying sellers.

Before taking you to your 4-star hotel, in the centre of Tangier, the guide will give you free time to enjoy a mint tea or other local delicacies.

You will have free time to explore Tangier by night, which is a relatively safe city. Please always bear in mind that you are in an Arabic country and that you should behave and dress accordingly with local culture and laws.

We recommend asking the local guide for advice on places to visit by night in Tangier.

On the following day, after the included breakfast at the hotel and in the schedule to be agreed after the online booking, you will be transferred to the Tangier port to take the ferry back to Tarifa. Before that, you will have the morning free to walk, shopping, visit monuments or other free-time activities.

2 day tour to Tangiers
Everything was nice in Tangiers. Of course, we were prepared for the shopping hassling but my wife Martha is a huge fan of shopping and with her aunt Rose and her mother, they all enjoyed that part of barging for local products... Anyway, just some advice about the annoying border crossing so you can have a better experience than the 4 of us: Meeting Point in Tarifa: - The terminal in Tarifa is relatively small. As soon as you enter the terminal you will find the information point in front and the assistant will be waiting. That I must thank to Living Tours for sending everything clear by email. It was easy to find thanks to your email. Tarifa Procedures: - We were affixed with a sticker on our chest, which identified our group and were given the round-trip ferry ticket. The guide Spanish guide Lewis repeat in rather good English: you should always keep the tickets with you! You should always keep the tickets with you! - just remembering that in my head. - Then we went through security and emigration (Spanish police) to leave the country. - Waited in the departure hall until boarding of our ferry began. - On the ferry, we had to go inside the Moroccan police office to stamp the passport, so that the departure was faster in Tangier. - Ferry trip took about 1 hour. - Upon arriving in Tangier, we went through a police booth that checked our passports (again...) and stamped them. - Outside the terminal where the local guides Rashid and Muhammad waiting for us. Muhammad was a very funny guide and with a good English level.

Absolutely fantastic 2 days short break to Morocco
Went with the family of 5. We live in Gibraltar for a couple of years now and can see Morocco on clear sky days, but never ever had went there. A fantastic experience for a short break just on the other side of the strait and another world emerges... The rest I leave to your imagination. Worth every penny!

Great 2 days trip to Tangiers, Morocco
I would divide the tour into 4 main points: Panoramic tour of the modern and new area of ??Tangier until you reach Hercules Cave, get off the bus and visit, return to the bus, go past the beach area where you stop to see the camels. If you want to pay 2 EUR you can ride a camel for a few minutes. Soon you will go to the city center. Lunch in the city center in a traditional restaurant. Lunch is included except drinks. Drinks can be purchased and non-alcoholic and cost on average 1.5EUR. Lunch is traditional and complete with live local music. Walking tour to Tangier's Kasbah (old city), it is made up of narrow and labyrinthine streets, colorful buildings, some stairs and a lot of history. Visited a traditional Moroccan pharmacy to know the miraculous products and also a silk and scarf shop with 100% MArrocan products. Nice 4-star hotel, in the center of Tangier. Marrocan enjoyable dinner, chicken Tangine (hope the name is well written). Great walking in Tangier by night tahnks to the tips at the hotel. Fancy breakfast at the hotel. All in all, I would do it again.
