Full description

Tour of the commercial and cultural capital of the island.

The tour focuses on the city of Santa Cruz. In 2012, the British newspaper The Guardian named Santa Cruz the fifth on the list that included the world's best cities in which to live. In the so-called Zona Centro (streets Castillo, San Jose or Viera y Clavijo, among others) or Zona Rambla (Rambla de Pulido, Calle Ramón y Cajal) there are many shops. Today the city has about 200,000 inhabitants!

You will be amazed by the many interesting sights and attractions that Santa Cruz de Tenerife offers:

Work of the controversial architect Santiago Calatrava, the Auditorium of Tenerife has established itself as a symbol of bold contemporary architecture in the Canary Islands and also the rest of Spain. Head Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, has two chambers: chamber and symphonic. The building with its prominent wing is located in the northeast of the Marine Park.

Plaza España brings emerging lake fountains, park pavilions in which cafes, restaurants, shops and bars, and parking area are located. Perfect for leisure and free time (no guided tour). Here the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife is also to be found. The celebration of the popular and acclaimed Tenerife Carnival (Festivity of International Tourist Interest) has its hub in this public space and its surroundings.

Built in Baroque style canary on which are the foundations of the first chapel built by the conquerors, the Church of the Conception is the main temple of the city and pays homage to St. James. In its facilities, the cross Alonso Fernández de Lugo drove in their day to disembark in the city is also retained.

The city is a melting pot of different cultures, giving it a cosmopolitan character.

Shopping in Tenerife
Great to do some sightseeing in Santa Cruz and at the same time to do some shopping at zona centro and ramblas. A modern city, we felt always confortable although only speaking english.

Day in Santa Cruz
Spending a good part of the day in Santa Cruz, the main city of Tenerife, revealed a modern city with a fresh architecture in a kind of paradisiacal atmosphere. This city grew a lot in the last years but still conserves a good organization and one can see the quality of life people have. There are few historical remains except the Church of the Conception.
