Full description

The tour departs from your hotel in Coimbra with destination to the city of Invicta for the visit of the city classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1996. Porto is renowned for its monuments and art. Filled with award-winning wine cellars, huge leisure facilities and cultural infrastructures, these are just some of the reasons not to miss this private visit to the city.

During the tour we will visit the bridge D.Luis I. Inaugurated in 1886, it was designed by the engineer Théophile Seyrig, disciple of Gustave Eiffel. This connects the city of Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia, crossing the Douro River.

You will have the opportunity to discover the Port wine cellars. The Port wine is internationally known for its quality and although it is produced in the Douro Valley, the cellars are located in the city of Porto. You will make a visit and have a tasting of this wonderful and unique wine. 

The tour continues with the visit to the São Bento Railway Station. Built in the twentieth century is one of the most beautiful in the country. It has a structure of glass and iron and is decorated with twenty thousand tiles illustrating the evolution of transport and important events of the history and lifestyle of the Portuguese.

During the tour we will visit the church and Clérigos tower, a symbol of the city and the country. This baroque church of the XVIII century is a work of the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni.

You will have free time for lunch.

During the afternoon, we will visit the Gothic Church of San Francisco. It has been classified as a National Monument and World Heritage Site by Unesco for its extraordinary decoration in gilt carving, making it unique in the country. Next, we will get to know the cathedral of Porto. Located in the heart of the historical center of the city of Porto, it is one of the main and oldest monuments of Portugal.

It will also be possible to visit the surroundings of Palácio da Bolsa. It is located in the center of Porto and was built in 1834, in neo-classical style, by the Commercial Association of Porto.
