Begin your full-day tour departing from Barcelona on a comfortable bus to reach the overwhelming Montserrat Mountain!
Alongside with a professional guide, you will have the opportunity to visit the Santa Maria monastery, which houses the Romanesque carving of the 12th century, the Verge Moreneta (the Black Madonna). The Benedictine Sanctuary of Montserrat was founded in 1025 and offers a mystical backdrop to the Virgin of Montserrat, patron saint of Catalonia, who is consecrated in the Royal Basilica of the Monastery. The small monastery soon began to receive pilgrims and visitors, who have contributed to the dissemination of stories of miracles and wonders performed by the Virgin.
After arriving at Montserrat, you'll start with a guided visit through the Monastery and a short walk to San Miguel Viewpoint. Around 13h00, you'll have the chance to see the La Escolanía de Montserrat choir (subject to availability), to see the Virgin "La Moreneta" and enjoy a private tour to the Sacristy.
You will have free time to invest in the typical liqueurs tasting, to visit the audiovisual exhibition, to visit the museum (entrance not included), to buy some food products in the local market, to discover new pathways around the mountain and/or to enjoy the fabulous landscape by yourself.
Here are some activities that you can do during your free time:
Museum: presents a wide variety of archaeological pieces and works ranging from medieval times to avant-garde art. Admission is not included in the tour.Sant Joan funicular and Santa Cova funicular: they allow you to reach different points of the mountain. Ticket price is not included.
Hiking trails: the mountain is full of hiking trails for all levels.
