Full description

With its subtropical weather and exotic flora, the Madeira Island is almost like paradise. Its pure nature will leave you speechless with sceneries of waterfalls, natural pools with azure water and forests with every shade of green.

In this full day off-road tour, you'll discover all of Madeira's hidden places and visit the most beautiful terraces with paradisiac landscapes. We'll start at the Serra de Água valley, which divides the mountain range from the only plateau on the island, and take you through the blossoming northwest.

Immerse yourself in the native forest. Be amazed by the way the lava sculpts natural swimming pools and with waterfalls that blend in with the ocean. Breathe in the fresh air and marvel at the breathtaking landscapes seen from every viewpoint. 

Do all this while feeling the adrenaline of riding in an off-road vehicle and walk along a "Levada", an old type of water canal typical from this region.

Besuchen Sie die wunderschöne Insel Madeira nicht ohne diese Tour zu buchen. Diese Reise war brillant, unglaublich gut organisiert und hat Spaß gemacht! Der Guide kannte sich wirklich gut aus und war sehr freundlich! Die Stopps, die wir entlang der Route machten, waren genau das, was wir sehen wollten. Miguel ist ein Mann, der seine Insel eindeutig liebt und gerne seine Geheimnisse und Kultur teilt. Die ganze Erfahrung des Tages war erstklassig, inklusive Mittagessen. Diese Tour ist sehr unterhaltsam und sehr informativ.

Amazing fauna in Madeira!1!!1
The tour is highly recommended. We had Nelson as a driver who speaks very good english. During our tour we had another couple and we loved their company. The relationship we all had was very good. Nelson's knowledge of Madeira's fauna, flora and history surprised us. We also learned a lot during the tour. Also, the guide often stops to explain. Thanks again for the great day.

A different day in Madeira
The route went exactly as promised. We started in Funchal and went off-road on the northwest coast of Madeira. We pass through impressive green landscapes and along the promenade we always see the coast and the sea. We made the famous trail of the Royal Way of Encumeada that took us to the highest point of Madeira. We have no words to describe every moment spent with the guide Nuno. The traditional lunch is excellent, the food is really very good. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Madeira.

Off Road in the north
The terrain is very rough in some parts, but with Nelson on the road, we were not afraid of anything. If you like action and adventure then this is the right ride for you. The typical local lunch was really delicious. It was the 2nd time in Madeira, and we loved it. This time we decided to discover the north and it is undoubtedly a very beautiful area of Madeira. Without the guide, we would never be able to see some of the landscapes we saw. Thanks

a great off-road ride
We were picked up by Valdemar at the hotel in the morning and greeted very friendly. After all the couples were picked up, we headed north. Valdemar was very friendly and fun and explained us a lot. He explained all about the history of the island, the different places and also about the plants and life here on the island. Among other things, we climbed the mountain for 2 hours off-road and it was very mountainous, then we visited a banana farm, drank the famous poncha and saw the lava pools and Black Sand beaches in Porto Moniz. This day could not have been more beautiful! We recommend it to everyone over and over again, but you must be prepared for any weather and adjust to the off-road track unsteadily.

Bless nature and Madeira
The trip was phenomenal. We went with Nelson. The organization and collection was easy and our guide (Nuno) was great! Our group received a lot of attention and we gained a lot of knowledge about the region, flora and fauna. So there was always enough time to stay at the respective stops. Swimming in the most remote pools and driving in the open jeep are simply wonderful. The ride is so much fun. I can only recommend it to anyone. And a big compliment to Nelson. He does a great job.

Amazing day with exclent guides
Starting the day with an amazing S. Vicente coffee without imagining the fantastic day ahead. Very fun trip full of laughter and breathtaking landscapes despite the rain no doubt reminded us of our autumn and a lot of history about our nature, by the way, our guide's knowledge. We love the ride and nature itself fills our eyes and heart with such beauty. The attention, accessibility, flexibility and attention of the guides (Nuno / Nelson and Juan) was excellent. Getting to know this little piece of Madeira was not just passing by the locals taking the picture and following ... it was experiences with the smells, flavors, sounds and local people!

My nephew and I spent a fun day touring the forest, levada and beaches in Madeira. Great tour with 4 other tourists. We took a tour with a lot of adventure, Nelson showed us the typical plants of Madeira and we swam in some beautiful natural pools! Thank you Nelson and Living Tours!

Excellent day
We booked this tour and were very eager to do it. The guide made the whole trip worthwhile and never got us bored. In addition to an adventurous route through Porto Moniz, we were also professionally shown by him many plants and fruits that he saw along the way. The day is hectic, full of different landscapes. From the mountains, from the sea! And all the while interesting and / or fun comments about the island, its flora, its history. We felt well supervised and pleased to share the island. The restaurant proposed for lunch was simple and cheap (8.5 for a good breaded fish sandwich + chips + 1 beer + 1 pastel cream dessert). Nothing to say!
