Full description

Madrid de los Austrias (The Madrid of the Habsburgs) is the name given to Madrid at the time when the Habsburg dynasty reigned in Spain. This reign began with Carlos I, who enriched the city with palaces and monuments. Later, when Felipe II turned it into the capital of Spain, the city grew remarkably. The tour of the Renaissance and Baroque buildings of this period is perhaps one of the most picturesque and representative of Madrid.

First, we will make a stop at one of the most emblematic cafés in the area, where we will offer you a snack.

The Royal Palace was built in the 18th century on the old Alcázar de Los Austrias, in classicist and Italian-style baroque style. It is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved palaces in Europe, a symbol of the permanence and consolidation of Madrid as the political Capital of the Kingdom. The Palace has been the official residence of the Spanish monarchy from 1765 to 1931. In it, the most brilliant official receptions of the Crown are held, such as audiences, gala dinners, the signature of agreements and the traditional ceremony of presentation of the Credentials of foreign ambassadors to His Majesty the King.

We will visit the Plaza de Armas (outside the Palace), the Grand Staircase, the Apartments of King Carlos III, the apartments of the Queen, the Banquet room, the Royal Chapel, the Throne Room, and the Crown Room. After the guided tour, you can continue with the visit on your own and visit the Royal Armory and enjoy the views from the viewpoint of the Plaza de Armas.

Keep in mind that the itinerary can be altered by events or celebrations in the city (cultural events, sporting events, official events or works)

Visit this magical building avoiding long queues!
