At just 25 minutes from the city centre, you will find an enormous forest area, considered by many as the "lungs of Lisbon". Accompanied by one of our knowledgeable guides, you will ride from the busy centre all the way to this hidden gem and enter a whole new reality.

Monsanto is a piece of paradise away from the crowded city and the mass tourism. The bicycle paths cross the forest's 900 hectares (2 224 acres) leading you to privileged viewpoints, from where you can admire the Tagus River estuary and the 25 de Abril Bridge, and to the different areas of the woods. You will find many parks and gardens destined for different activities, from relaxed strolls to high intensity workout circuits, a series of tracks for BTT, playgrounds, basketball and football courses, a skate park and various picnic areas scattered all over this green retreat.

One of the main attractions in Monsanto, apart from the forest itself, is the old panoramic restaurant. Built in 1968, this building started as a luxurious restaurant and has since then been transformed into a number of other facilities from a bingo place, to a disco, an office building and a warehouse. Today it serves only as a viewpoint, offering its visitants an incredible 360º view over Lisbon.
