Born in Porto, the Francesinha is a gastronomic icon of the city, very much appreciated by both Portuguese and Foreigners.

Created in the 50s by a Portuguese, Daniel David Silva, it was considered, in 2011, as the 10th best sandwich in the world, by the North American website AOL Travel.

We advanced curious to the cooking class in Ribeira do Porto. We were very well received by the hosts. The good disposition of the team, the roasted chorizo, the transmontana olives and the white wine, created the perfect atmosphere for Francesinha's class. It was almost two hours sharing tasks to reach Francesinha.

It was great to have the pleasure of learning how to cook a francesinha. The night before I had gone to dinner with my husband at a well known restaurant in Porto, at the Brasão Brewery and we loved this sandwich. Vitor taught me all the secrets behind this dish, but the biggest one is the sauce. Ours was not the same as the restaurant where we had dinner but it is an aspect to improve. Each house has its secret.
