Full description

From Barcelona, visit the so-called "City of Four Rivers", where you will find a historic center dominated by medieval buildings and historical marks of Romans, Arabs and Jews. See the streets where the "Game of Thrones" series was recorded on a tour of the city with our professional guide.

Travel through more than 2000 years of history, and explore Girona, a monumental city that preserves to this day a remarkable artistic wealth. The main attraction of the city is the Jewish quarter, the Call, the beautiful streets and portico squares, the Cathedral, the exultant baroque spaces, the Novecentist buildings of Rafael Masó and the famous pastel houses on the banks of the river.

After a walk around the city you will have free time to explore Girona at your own pace.

Departure time: 15h00.

Includes a ride on the Cremalheira Train (Train).

In the second part of your tour you will visit the sacred mountain of Montserrat. This is an important reference point in the culture of Catalonia.

The importance of the mountain is due to the Black Virgin of Montserrat, popularly known as "La Maroneta" due to its dark tone, it is a statue of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ. According to the legend, during the Muslim invasion the Virgin was hidden in a cave so that nobody would take her. As if by miracle, a group of locals, a few years later, heard music among the rocks where the statue was hidden and the bishop decided to move it, however "La Maroneta" was very heavy and it was assumed that her desire was to stay in Montserrat, and so the fantastic monastery was built.

Listen to our guide's explanations about all the details of the mountain as well as the monastery on a guided tour. Once the guided tour is over, we will have free time to admire the fabulous scenery this unique place offers, visit the artisan food market, visit the audiovisual space and taste the typical liqueurs.

great tip
The tour was great. Nice and clean buses. Good guides and good equipment. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful walk in the historic center of Girona. In Montserrat, the panorama from the train and the basilica are magnificent. The tour guides gave free time to explore.
