Full description

Visit the stunning Casa Battló, La Pedrera, Sagrada Familia and Park Güell on this guided tour.

CASA BATLLÓ: This is a complete remodeling of a previously existing building, the work of Emilio Sala Cortés, which was acquired by the industrialist Josep Batlló, a wealthy businessman who owned several textile factories in Barcelona. For the remodeling Batlló commissioned the project to Gaudí, at that time an architect of great renown, who at that time worked on several projects at the same time: the Expiatory Temple of the Sagrada Familia, the Bellesguard Tower, the Park Güell and the restoration of the Cathedral of Santa María in Palma de Mallorca. The industrialist was so impressed with the work of the architect that he recommended it to his friend, Pedro Milá, for whom Gaudí built the Casa Milà (popularly known as La Pedrera) between 1906 and 1912, and which we will later have the opportunity to visit. Casa Batlló is a fabulous example of Gaudí's artistic stage known as a naturalist, inspired by organic forms of nature that he had previously studied carefully, giving rise to ingenious structural solutions.

CASA MILÀ "LA PEDRERA": The building is located on a corner of Paseo de Gracia with Calle Provenza, in the Eixample district of Barcelona. In full industrial moment when the bourgeoisie was consolidated as a privileged estate, Gaudí was commissioned to build a manor house by Pedro Milà i Camps, a wealthy businessman whose father had forged his fortune in the textile industry. The Milà project consisted of building a large building to use the main floor, known as the noble floor, for its own residence and to dispose of the rest on a rental basis. The construction suffered several delays due to the fact that the building exceeded in height and width the established in the municipal ordinances. During the guided tour you will have the opportunity to visit the patios, the last three floors (roof, attic and one floor) and the temporary exhibition that is on the old noble floor (the availability of this area is subject to the exhibition calendar of the foundation).

At this point, you will have three hours of free time for lunch and go by yourself to our office in the Sardenya street, where you will have to check-in again. From la Pedrera you can reach our office walking though the Provença Street. The way will take you 30 minutes. Also you can take the L5 blue line of the metro from Diagonal to Sagrada Familia.

SAGRADA FAMILIA: The Basilica and Expiatory Temple of la Sagrada Familia is one of the most visited buildings in the world. Considered the Gaudi’s masterpiece, despite the construction of the church stared on the 1882 is still unfinished. We will visit its astonishing interior rich in symbolism, and with our guide you will discover how Gaudí got most of his inspiration from nature, considered by the architect the God’s masterpiece. As a result the building is a perfect fusion between architecture and spiritually. At the end of the visit the guide will take you to the elevator entrance for climbing to one of the towers. From the top of the tower you will admire by yourself the spectacular panoramic views of Barcelona. In addition, you will be able to visit the museum, where there is an exhibition of drawings, plaster models and pictures about the history and development of this basilica from its early beginnings us to the present day. The museum will also give valuable information about Gaudí’s life and career. At the end of the tour we will take the bus to Park Güell.

PARK GÜELL: Located at the upper part of Barcelona with incredible views of the city, we find Park Güell, one of the most emblematic works of the architect Antoni Gaudí. The Park has been declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in the 1984. The original project was meant to be an urbanization, ordered by the catalan entrepreneur Eusebi Güell, it was finally inaugurated as a public park in 1926. In this work Gaudí displayed all his creative talent with a naturalistic and organic style with the aim to achieve a perfect integration of architecture and nature. We will admire how the architect handles one of his favorite techniques, the “trencadís”, omnipresent in all his creations. Be ready to discover all the secrets hidden in this park through the explanations of our guides!

Outstanding experience!
My wife and I were interested in learning more about Gaudi and paid for a skip the line tour of Gaudi. It is an easy and fast way to visit many places and reach the Guell Park. The tour guide was knowledgeable friendly. There was a great balance between walking and riding in the coach.
