Have a complete day excursion through Barcelona that will allow you to know the history of the city and visit some of its most emblematic places in a comfortable and easy way. This tour will show the Highlights of Barcelona and also its Artistic side.
During the first part of the tour, we will make a guided walking tour through the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, the oldest nucleus of the city and historic center. During this early walking visit, we will have the opportunity to visit the Ramblas, the Cathedral Square, the interior of the Cathedral, the old Jewish quarter and the Plaza San Jaime, among other places. The guide will give you free time to visit the Cathedral on your own.
Next, we will take our bus that will take us on a panoramic tour of the rest of the city. We will pass by the elegant Passeig de Gracia, where Casa Batlló and La Pedrera (both houses by Gaudí), the Arc de Triomphe, the Ciutadella Park, the Olympic Village, and the Olympic Port are located, where we will make a brief stop.
During the next part of the tour, we will access the mountain of Montjuïc, an important place for hosting a good part of the facilities of the 1992 Olympic Games. We will go to the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, where we will make a brief stop, and later we will have the opportunity to enjoy a fabulous panoramic view of the city from the cable car (subject to weather conditions). Then we will go to Poble Espanyol, one of the main attractions of Montjuïc and that constitutes a synthesis of the cultural wealth of Spain. During the visit, we will have free time to enjoy its different environments, where we will find craft shops, restaurants, and bars.
At the end, back on the bus, we will leave Montjuïc and return to the center of the city, passing through the spectacular Plaza de España, where you can admire the Venetian Towers, the fountains of Montjuïc, the MNAC and the CC Las Arenas, built on the old Bullring of the same name. We will arrive at the Plaza de Catalunya, where our tour will end in front of the Hard Rock Café, in the center of the city.
ARTISTIC:
Barcelona is known as the capital of Modernism, where the famous architect Antoni Gaudí lived and worked. During this tour, we will have occasion to know some of his most important works.
We will begin our journey through the exterior of the Basilica and Expiatory Temple of the Sagrada Familia, a masterpiece that Gaudí left unfinished and which is one of the most visited monuments in the world. Thanks to our guide we can discover historical details and much of the symbolism behind the ornamentation of this majestic building.
Then, again on the bus, we will access the upper part of Barcelona where Park Güell is located, with splendid panoramic views of the city. This park is one of the most emblematic works of the architect and where he displayed all his creative talent with a fully naturalistic and organic style. The place was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Our visit will end with a pleasant walk through one of the main streets of Barcelona, the Paseo de Gracia, where among prestigious brands shops there are numerous buildings of modernist aesthetics, among them the Casa Batlló and the Casa Milá "La Pedrera", both of Gaudí.
