At 9.30 am. we will leave from the Plaza de Galicia in Santiago de Compostela and head towards the city of Betanzosa city in the province of A Coruña also known as “Betanzos de Los Caballeros” as this city was one of the seven provincial capitals of the old Kingdom of Galicia and its old town has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site.  

Capital of the Galician Gothic, Betanzos has one of the best-preserved historical centers in Galicia. In Betanzos, the following monuments stand out: Gothic Church of Santa María del Azogue, Church of Santiago, Church of San Francisco and many more.

Later, start the walking tour of La Coruña, discovering the monuments and streets that surround the central Plaza de María Pita: the Church of San Jorge, the Church of Santiago, the viewpoint, and the Garden of San Carlos and the Beach of Riazor, among others.

Not only will you see monuments, but also have the opportunity to taste “The best tortilla in Spain” since in this town a contest is held every year, from which a winner comes out.

Finish the tour by visiting the Tower of Hercules, the oldest lighthouse of Roman origin in the world, and its surroundings. Those who wish, can go up to its viewpoint and enjoy the spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The way back to Santiago de Compostela, after visiting these two beautiful cities of Galicia.
