The full-day trip begins with the departure from Porto towards Régua. A bus journey starts now, but this is not a typical one, the richness and the diversity of this journey will impress you. As soon as you start to appreciate the region views, the enthusiasm for the cruise begins to appear!

A great day

First impressions were not good as we went to Living collection point at station and not the station itself. Instructions should make this clear. That said, the rest of the day exceeded expectations with comfortable bus trip and easy transfer to the boat. Light refreshments prior to lunch needed patience in the queue but prices were very reasonable. Lunch was superb with lots of wine and soft drinks and excellent service. A great day. Recommended

After four days of sight-seeing in & around Porto this cruise down river proved to be a very relaxing way to experience a taste of the Douro Valley ... without any of the wine! A really enjoyable day with a decent meal & excellent service from every member of staff of the vessel operator.

Journey on bus and river was good, haven't been through locks before so interesting. Food and wine was plentiful. Did think there might be a short stop in Regua but straight from bus to boat. Only a bus load of us so lots of room on boat. Difficult to hear commentary on boat and none on the bus.

Regua porto cruise review

We took the porto regua train early in the morning. A pleasant and peaceful trip. We strolled a little in Regua where we bought typical sweets. We boarded and a little bit after had pork loin with roasted potatoes and vegetables accompanied with good white wine. It was also possible to choose red wine. The crew was friendly and helpful, but not everyone spoke good English. The highlight of the trip was the descent of the dams. The children were amazed.

The regua porto boat trip was an interesting experience. We were looking for a regua port transport and decided to do it by boat because they allowed our suitcases on board. Beautiful scenery and a lot of excitement when descending the dams.

This tour was absolutely worth it. I enjoyed the beautiful scenery on both the sides of the river. The boat was big with all facilities to make you feel comfortable. The organisers have to include vegetarian food option and send few representatives in the meeting point to help with the paperwork and formalities upon departure.

Der ganze Tag war einfach wunderschön. Organisation und Durchführung waren top. Wir haben jede Minute genossen. Interessante Zugfahrt nach Regua, nette Leute an Bord kennengelernt, gut gegessen begleitet von gutem Wein. Das Wetter, der Fluss und das wunderschöne Schiff machten die Reise rund. Fast 7 Stunden an Bord machen jede Kreuzfahrt überflüssig. Danke dafür.

The awesome Douro!!

From our pick early at the hotel to our drop off 12 hrs later, our day was filled with interest and pleasure. In short we loved it !! The train ride to Regu (cruise start point) was great, but the train windows were so dirty we couldn’t see the wonderful views on offer along the rivers edge.. This is beyond the control of the operators, but suggest they get a Govt minister on the job. Missed opportunity there. The scenery from the river, the massive locks and the lunch, met and exceeded our expectations. The wine supplied was good quality also. Katrina the guide was organised and very nice. The PA on the boat let her down we felt. The very pushy vendors at Regu boat dock we’re an annoyance and should be dealt with. There was some aggressive behaviour we observed. Not good for the cruise operators businesses. We want to give special thx to João who collected us from the boat. He was so accommodating to us. We truly appreciated his kindness. We understand he is in management and not usually driving. Thank you for a remarkable experience.

a great day on the boat

It was a great experience and a right choice to take the trip. I have not booked anything in advance and was looking for a boat trip down Douro river last minute, indeed everything was sold out. I have contacted the customer support of living tours hoping that maybe someone has canceled their cancellation. Whether it was the case or not, within minutes I was offered a place for the next day. The trip was nicely organized, the food was simple but tasty, also more than enough. The boat was comfortable, not too crowded. The personal was friendly and polite. If you are hesitating, I definitely recommend taking the trip.

Both transfer drivers were on time and a pleasure to talk to. The young lady at the rail station was pleasant and efficient. She made sure we were on the train and told us when the station to get off was coming up. She told us what table we were seated at. The card with my name printed on it was a lovely touch. The service and meal on the boat were wonderful. The views from the boat were amazing. The locks were a highlight I can not thank your company and staffed enough.
