Full description

Our tour departs from Seville, and we will arrive, in little more than half an hour, at Carmona, in Andalusia, in the South of Spain. Known for the historical richness and the delicious gastronomy, mixing Andalusian and Sevillian recipes.

Carmona keeps visitable its secular Heritage and its origins date from the Neolithic eras. There, you can observe many ruins from different periods: the Pre-historical, Roman, Muslim and Contemporary. In this tour, we will visit the historic centre of Carmona – one of the oldest inhabited sites in the Iberian Peninsula. In the city centre, it is possible to see Mudéjar architecture and decorations, such as tiles and other details.

We will discover the main monuments of the ancient city known as “El Lucero da Europa” (direct translation in English: "The morning star of Europe"). Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths, Muslims, and Christians have left their mark, throughout every street of Carmona. Also, we will not miss the Roman necropolis, ancient large cemeteries with tomb monuments, with more than 2,000 years!

After a short stroll, we will walk to the Alcázar of the Seville Gate, the Gate of Córdoba and the Alcázar del Rey Don Pedro, the imposing Arab fortress. We will also visit the Church of Santa Maria, the most important Church in Carmona, built from 1424 until 1551, and considered by many as a masterpiece work.

We will return to Seville, before lunch, after this walking tour to the amazing city of Carmona.

Reviews

Carmona with a lot of history
The tour began with a meeting point in Seville by a friendly and knowledgeable guide. The comfortable coach ride to Carmona was a great opportunity to soak in the scenic views of the Andalusian countryside and learn about the region's history and culture from our guide, who shared interesting anecdotes and historical facts along the way. It's a journey that will leave you with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for the cultural treasures of this region. I would give 5 stars if the tour was full-day.
