If you want to live an incredible experience and at the same time enjoy spectacular views, we invite you to visit with us the impressive Caminito del Rey.
Once you arrive at the Conde de Guadalhorce reservoir, the main hydrological reserve of the province of Malaga, our guide will immerse you in the history of the natural scenery of the Gorge of the Gaitanes.
The Gorge of the Gaitanes is a cannon excavated by the river Guadalhorce and located in the centre of the province, with access to the north by the Guadalhorce reservoirs and to the south by the village of El Chorro. The maintenance of the El Chorro canal led to the construction of a fabulous passage.
This road is known as "El Caminito del Rey" because it was inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII.
In general, the Caminito Del Rey is a 3-kilometer passage on the walls of the Chorro and Gaitanejo passes. It is a suspension rail constructed (in 1901-05) by the old workers of the dams, serving of way of access.
It began to be used by adventurous tourists from all over the world, interested in the adrenaline and the altitude of the fabulous route. Because it was so dangerous and controversial, it was shut down for a few years, undergoing remodelling and reconstruction. Reopened to the public in 2015. Even today, it is one of the biggest attractions of Andalusia and of the entire country.
