This private tour will let you visit a city full of history, great heritage, and a strong religious devotion - Braga.
We will start our trip by visiting this city, also known as the "Portuguese Rome". Braga is a deeply religious city and this guided tour will allow you to visit the Path of Faith: the Cathedral and Bom Jesus Sanctuary. Exciting, right?
Firstly, you will discover the majestic Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary. This pilgrimage site is one of the most impressive sacred hills in Europe, with a stairway with almost 6 hundred steps. It was used to be climbed by pilgrims on their knees to reach the purification of the spirit. Not only a religious monument but also a truly romantic and relaxing place, with stunning views of the city.
After that, enjoy a walking tour in the historical centre, passing by the most important touristic landmarks such as Gardens Santa Bárbara and the Old Bishop's Palace. With our guide, you will visit inside the Cathedral of Braga, also known as Sé de Braga, is a Catholic Church and one of the most important buildings in the city, considered as the city’s birthplace. An engaging monument that combines three completely different architectural styles: Romanesque, Manueline and Baroque. It is the oldest Cathedral in Portugal - it was even built several decades before the founding of the country!
