We have suggestions for every taste, from alternative bands, rock, jazz, MPB, folk, hip-hop and many more. Discover also our guide for a night in Porto!

Hard Club

Located in the Market Ferreira Borges, an unrivaled red building and recognized as a Property of Public Interest, the Hard Club is a showroom that integrates several artistic areas, from music to cinema, theater, and literature. Such is the fame of space in the city, that, every year, it receives thousands of artists and hundreds of thousands of spectators. In the Hard Club, many Portuguese bands have played such as Ornatos Violeta, Orelha Negra, Linda Martini, Dealema, and also international bands like Morphine, Cigarettes After Sex and Russian Circles. And many, many more, of course. A true landmark!

Maus Hábitos

It is impossible to think of the Maus Hábitos and not to raise the word "alternative" in the mind. The owners entitle it as a "Cultural Intervention Space" and they are quite right. Also "Bad Habits" (literal translation) because they believe that culture must be original, innovative and revolutionary. They are right again. It is also a multidisciplinary space, as mentioned above, embracing different forms of cultural expression. The perfect location for all those who like emerging artists, indie, and experimental bands.

Passos Manuel

The Cinema Passos Manuel, as the name easily indicates, is a cinema created in 1971, next to the Coliseu do Porto. Always very focused on independent cinema, it has become a landmark in the city as a major supporter of the 7th art. In 2004 it reopened with a broader approach, becoming a multipurpose venue. In music, it mainly bets on pop, rock and electro genres. It is worth a visit to this historic place, eternally present in the hearts of the independent and alternative art enthusiasts.

HotFive

The favorite of the Jazz and Blues fans. It stands out as a charismatic space, with a strong live concert agenda of jazz, blues, soul, and funk. The HotFive environment is intimate, airy and with multiple photographs of the best musicians of these musical genres. The best we have to recommend is the jam sessions, which are held every Wednesday night.

Hard Rock Café

The Hard Rock Café does not require presentations. The cosmopolitan restaurant-bar chain, present in 59 countries, opened doors in the city of Invicta in September 2016, in a perfect combination of a historic building with the contemporary and bold touch of rock music. The décor is already famous: clothes and instruments that were part of the stage of musicians who changed the history: from Elvis Presley, Madonna or Kiss. At Hard Rock, every week, you can listen to small concerts from countless Portuguese and international bands, from tribute bands (to The Doors, The Beatles, Pink Floyd or Queen), to emerging and already recognized musicians of rock, blues, soul or even bossa nova.

Good news for all music fans, looking for small concerts, alternative venues or more intimate shows, right? Porto is in the mouths of the world and always for the best reasons. The diversity of the cultural offer of the city is one of its best aspects, and in the world of Music could not be different.

During a visit to Porto, it is always worthwhile to visit Porto's great concert halls: from Casa da Música to the Coliseu do Porto, where giant names of music have already played. From the architecture and history of its buildings to the beautiful rooms, these will forever be landmarks for the great spectacles of Oporto.
