Living Tours - Chronology
From the pride of being Portuguese and inspired by the courage of the navigators of the Age of Discovery, Living in Portugal was born in 2004, with the aim of showing with authenticity the best that Portugal and the Portuguese have to offer.
In this sense, the first Tours and Experiences in Porto and Northern Portugal emerged: Porto City Tour and the Dinner Tour with Fado Show.
With the need to provide a better service to our visitors, in 2006, the welcome centre in Rua Mouzinho da Silveira – Porto was opened: the 1st Tourist Service in Portugal.
With the increase of visitors to the city of Porto, we extended the offer of tours: the Douro Tour and the Minho Tour (Braga and Guimarães); and later the religious tours Santiago de Compostela (with Viana do Castelo included) and Fátima Tour (with Coimbra).
In 2007 we changed the name Living in Portugal to Living Tours innovating the brand.
In the same year, to expand visibility and influx of tourists, we started to represent the international brand Gray Line - Sightseeing Everywhere in Porto.
The 1st Tourist Service in the capital of Portugal appears in 2011, with Living Tours opening in Lisbon.
Given the need to organize tailor-made tours for single travellers and groups, in 2012 we opened our Incoming and Events - DMC department in Porto and Lisbon.
In 2013, Living Tours is present at the main international tourism trade shows.
To offer travellers across continents a broad offer from the Iberian Peninsula, in 2014 the Internationalization of the Living Tours brand took place with the opening of the Incoming and Events – DMC department in Barcelona, Spain.
In 2015, the E-commerce/Marketplace platform Livingtours.com was born, offering experiences online from Portugal and Spain, becoming a successful TTA (Technology Travel Agency) in the Iberian destination.
In 2016 to complement the Tour Operation, we extended a 24/7 operation of transfers.
The LivingPlex building opened in 2017, concentrating back office offices and operations for tours and transfers.
To diversify the experience, in 2019, we started operating Walking Tours in Porto: Historical Tours and Sunset Rooftop Tours (Port Wine tasting and Fado Show).
