2 - Piódão and Foz D'Égua - Arganil (Center)

We put the two places together in one title because they complement each other in perfect harmonyPiódão is a village located on the slopes of the Serra do Açor, known for the dwellings, walls, and streets totally covered by shale. It is a place of unique beauty, making it truly enthralling for everyone who visits the village. Just 5km from Piódão, we reach Foz D ' Égua, where it is possible to find a wonderful natural swimming pool, ideal for relaxing, having a deep contact with Nature and even falling in love a little more. It is a truly unforgettable paradise.

3 - Fisgas do Ermelo - Mondim de Basto (Center)

The Cascade of the Fisgas do Ermelo, located in the district of Vila Real, is the name given to one of the largest waterfalls in Portugal and even to Europe. With a slope of 400 meters, the Figas do Ermelo are a fantastic place to visit in a romantic mood. This is because there are several pedestrian routes, of many different distances, for a good walk with Mother Nature. And for more adventurous couples, BTT rails are even available.

4 - Serra da Estrela (Center)

The second highest mountain in Portugal does not need introductions. The Serra da Estrela, part of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, is one of the most visited areas by foreign and Portuguese tourists, especially in winter, when snow is ever-present. The ski resorts of Serra da Estrela are its strongest attraction. It also stands out for its historical, cultural and gastronomic richness (you've heard of Serra da Estrela Cheese, right?). A must for all romantics in the world.

5 - Sintra

The Pena Palace is the biggest tourist attraction in Sintra. As well as being a UNESCO Heritage Site, it was considered one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal. It mixes several different architectural styles, becoming a totally exotic and exuberant place, with facades of strong and passionate colors! It is surrounded by a Park with more than 200 hectares, composed of many gardens, bridges, fountains and lakes, greenhouses and grottos. An ideal visit to Sintra for some fond kisses, and hugs surrounded by Art and Nature. Take the opportunity to discover the mysterious and beautiful Quinta da Regaleira.

6 - Porto Côvo - Sines (Alentejo)

"Aqui, no lugar de Porto Côvo." There is no Portuguese who does not know Rui Veloso's song, who sings passionately about the village situated on the Alentejo coastPorto Covo is a friendly parish, well known for its fantastic beaches (Praia Grande, Praia dos Buizinhos and others). On a visit to Porto Côvo, do not miss the opportunity to visit the Pessegueiro Island, marked by the Pessegueiro Fortress, historically important in the defense of Vicentina Coast.

7 - Monsaraz - Alentejo

Streets of narrow shalewhite walls, and a surrounding medieval wall. The village of Monsaraz, steeped in history and with a credited heritage, is a must-see destination for a romantic weekend. Increasingly, Monsaraz stands out in the sector of rural tourism in Portugal, being one of the most sought-after places in the Alentejo region. We promise you that you will never forget the views of the Alqueva and Alentejo!

8 - Benagil Beach - Lagoa (Algarve)

Benagil Beach deserves to be highlighted in this list since it is one of the most paradisiacal places in Portugal. With transparent water, calm water, and a breathtaking grotto, it is a must to surprise your soul mate. Algar de Benagil is a natural cavity formed by the erosion of wind and water, creating the effect of an absolutely beautiful cave. To improve the adventure and romance of this place, we advise you that access to Benagil Beach is not easy, and is only done by water. However, this does not seem to be a problem, since there are several ways to reach this magical place, with cruises and boat trips.

9 - Caldeira Velha - Azores

We know that we have already mentioned a waterfall before. But the Azores Islands also has a natural paradise that is worth a visit, and much warmer! The Caldeira Velha is a cascade of hot water, ideal for great bathing and diving, located on the slope of the Serra de Agua de Pau. Away from the confusion of the city environment, the Caldeira Velha has a great natural and exotic treasure. It is located in the crater in the Volcano of Fire, creating wonderful thermal waters. An enchanting experience for couples who enjoy activities of pure relaxation and body treatment, such as massages, spa... This time, immersed in an unforgettable natural landscape.

10 - Levadas - Madeira

Madeira Island is known as "The Pearl of the Atlantic" and there are many reasons for that. In this article, we will talk of one: the Levadas. A walk in a Madeira's Levadas (Walks) is one of the best experiences one can do on the island. And of course, accompanied by our other half is always better. For this reason, we suggest a leisure tour to Levadas of Rabaçal, 25 Fontes, and Risco. Let yourself be delighted by the many fountains and waterfalls. Live Nature in its purest state. More romantic than this is difficult!

We now want to leave a detail on what you may have already noticed: the places mentioned above are not sorted in order of preference, but by region. All are recommended and we have a special affection for all of them. Some better known, others less, but all of these will be able to make you sigh, together with your soulmate.

Dare to discover the most romantic experiences and places in Portugal!
