My main task at Living is to ensure our associates are extraordinary: to hire people who are passionate about excellence. Everything else will come by itself.
We are as good as the people around us. For this reason, selection is the starting point for corporations that succeed. If done well, everything else is easier. Things flow better and surprising synergies are created.
In terms of the hiring process, neither time nor effort should be neglected. Poor recruitment has terribly negative consequences for organizations, both in financial and image terms.
Steve Jobs explained:
