On the ride from Barcelona to Girona, your knowledgeable guide will explain the rich history of the city.
If you look closely, you will see the ancient culture and traditions still reflected in the city walls. Get lost in the labyrinth of narrow streets and travel through time as you explore the best-preserved Jewish neighbourhood in Europe.
Admire the Cathedral of Girona, bearing the widest Gothic nave in the world, and marvel at the colourful row of houses along the Onyar River. With its beautiful scenery and medieval feel, it is no wonder that Girona was chosen to be the setting for several important scenes in the popular television series “Game of Thrones”.
During our tour of Girona, we will cross several bridges. One of them was designed by the famous Gustave Eiffel in 1877. The modern feel of the ironclad Eiffel Bridge contrast sharply with the old buildings of the city.
Continue your tour to the small town of Figueres, located near the French border. Best known as the birthplace of surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, Figueres honours the legacy of its famous former resident with the Dalí Museum — designed by the artist himself and considered the world’s largest surrealist object.
Explore Dalí’s life and work through the museum’s collection of his dimension-bending paintings and other original artefacts. Relax on the return drive through the countryside to Barcelona, where the 10-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point in the evening.
