AM BARCELONA HIGHLIGHTS:

We will depart on foot from the meeting point and take a guided tour of the Born and Gothic districts, where you will discover all the history and secrets of this old part of the city. Located in the Gothic district, we will find the Cathedral of Barcelona, and here you will have free time to enter and visit and see its beauty inside and out. On the way to the bus, we will pass by one of the most well-known and beautiful churches in Barcelona, Santa Maria del Mar, located in the Born.

Then we'll proceed on a panoramic bus tour through the rest of the city, passing by the Ciutadella Park, the Olympic Villa, and the Olympic Port. Then you will access the Montjuïc mountain, an important site where most of the 1992 Olympic Games facilities are located. You will pass in front of the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, and then you will have the opportunity to enjoy a fabulous panoramic view of the city from the cable car (subject to weather conditions). We will finish our tour by passing through the elegant Paseo de Gracia, where Casa Batlló and La Pedrera (both modernist houses by Gaudí) are located.

PM MONTSERRAT:

Montserrat is one of the highlights of Catalonia. It is possible to observe a monastery and a church that guard the statue of Our Lady of Montserrat. In 1987 Montserrat was declared a natural park to guarantee its conservation.

The importance of the mountain is due to the legend that tells the miraculous apparition of the Virgin with the baby Jesus in one of the caves of the mountain. This image of the Virgin is popularly known as "La Moreneta" because of its dark color, the result of the transformation of the varnish over time, and is considered the patron saint of Catalonia. It is for this reason that in addition to the main monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat, which we will have occasion to visit, the mountain hosts a large number of small churches and hermitages. Let yourself be amazed by its interior!

During the first part of the tour, we will take a guided tour to get an explanation of various aspects of the mountain, as well as the monastery. In addition, the tour includes a tasting of four typical liqueurs from the area and a visit to the Audiovisual Space. Once the guided tour is over, we will have free time to admire the fabulous landscape that this unique spot offers, visit the artisan food market, visit the audiovisual space, and taste the typical liquors.

Reviews

An interesting day
The cable car was great to see wonderful view of the city. The liquor samples were good and I ended up buying some to take home. Montserrat is a place that can't be missed. It's a beautiful mountain area full of history. This was an amazing overview of the city with just the right balance of walking and bus time.
