If you want to feel and experience the volcanic origins of the Island this tour was made for you! Come with us to Furnas, a magical place in the Azores.

We start our day by visiting the first capital of São Miguel Island, Vila Franca do Campo with a short stop to taste the famous "Queijadas da Vila" (traditional sweets). The tour follows to Parque Terra Nostra botanical garden that is famous for its extraordinary collection of native plants in Azores, as well as others from all over the world that have adapted to the local garden conditions. At the end of the visit, you are invited to bathe in an iron-rich hot water swimming pool that has a temperature of 35-40º C, a superb experience!.

Before lunch, we will visit the area of ​​Caldeiras da Lagoa das Furnas, next to the Furnas lake, a place where the locals cook the famous “Cozido” – a special meal cooked only with the steam of the Earth! We will attend demonstrations to the traditional cook, then the cozido will be our lunch, served at a local restaurant, you can’t miss the chance to taste this typical dish.

For the afternoon, you'll experience the way the inhabitants of this parish live with the dormant volcano, then we'll visit the are of spring and fumaroles, here you can taste the water that comes directly from the rocks. 

On the way back to Ponta Delgada we make a stop at Pico do Ferro viewpoint, presenting you with superb view of the parish and Lagoa das Furnas.
